Nu wordt de verwarring compleet. Het gehele beeld blijkt als paneel binnen de lijst half naar links geschoven. Daarachter doemt het Cantoblik opnieuw op! En daar blijkt zich ook weer de oude achterwand met het eerdere schilderijtje te bevinden! Droom of nachtmerrie? Oniscus maakt het
allemaal niets uit. Hij is al die tijd letterlijk aan de oppervlakte gebleven en heeft elke diepgang vermeden.

Now the confusion has reached a climax. The whole image seems, within the frame, to have been pushed halfway to the left. Behind that the Canto can looms again! And it turns out that there the old back wall of the earlier painting is again located. Dream or nightmare? Oniscus doesn’t seem to care at all. All the time he literally stayed at the surface and steered clear of any profundity.

Jetzt ist die Verwirrung vollständig. Das ganze Bild wurde wie ein Paneel in dem Rahmen halb nach links geschoben. Dahinter erscheint aufs Neue die Canto Dose. Und da befindet sich auch wieder die alte Rückwand mit dem kleinen Bild. Traum oder Albtraum? Oniscus macht das alles nichts aus. Er ist die ganze Zeit sprichwörtlich an der Oberfläche geblieben und hat jeglichen Tiefgang vermieden.
